[Besides Sebastian, Dean is the last person Bo wants to deal with this week. But she's got a feeling she can't just ignore this.
And....wow she should have figured that out a long time ago. Of course she would have gone for Dean. She wonders what he's got going on that he didn't die]
Actually, no. But thanks for the heads up. Do I need to apologize again? Because this is a real crappy time to try to make me all guilt trippy.
[Bo draws in a sharp breath; she's starting to figure something is up, because she knows Dean doens't like what she is, but he hasn't been this big of an ass about it before]
....yeeeeah, don't think so buddy. The Animus owe you for making me go all maneater.
Either you can do it the easy way, with me killing you instantly and taking the parts while you're dead, or I can find you and take them while you're still alive.
[His tone is very matter-of-fact, like he's presenting a simple choice that doesn't involve death and body part removal.]
[when Dean does find Bo, she'll be some distance from her house--even if the dumbass is targeting her, she's not taking a chance he'll decide to take something from Kenzi too--sword in hand and stone faced.
She's taken down the Fae equivalent of Satan. She is betting she can take down a human, even if he's some kind of screwed up right now--and even if she'll be torn up by guilt later]
[Dean's on the hunt, armed to the teeth and carrying his machete openly. He figures he'll find Bo eventually, but even if he doesn't, he's perfectly willing to take out someone else to get other items knocked off of his list. It isn't that he enjoys murder — he's incapable of feeling enjoyment, or anything else — it's that he wants to win and doesn't have the inhibitions that would have held him back normally.
When he sees Bo, he doesn't even bother putting on an act like he's done for some others. He remains impassive and calm.]
You're in for it.
[A nice, neutral warning. It's all she gets before Dean is immediately on the attack. He believes he's a better hunter now, since he doesn't feel the need to give anyone the benefit of the doubt. Nor does he feel guilt or remorse.
He moves to strike at her, aiming at her head right at the get-go.]
[thankfully, the last few years plus her Faeness have upped Bo's reflexes. She ducks quickly, hoping to dodge and roll enough to either grab his ankles or take a chop at them]
Crap. What the hell kinda juice did the big guys give you?
[The sword catches his ankle and it hurts. Dean can feel warm blood easing down his ankle and into his sock. The best part about being soulless, however, is that he doesn't get angry or fearful, even with a move like that. He just remains determined and neutral.]
Something good.
[He's never felt better. Dean doesn't want his soul back.
After Bo slices his leg, Dean staggers back, but he doesn't bother pausing or looking at the wound. Instead, he moves again, this time side-stepping and going for another swipe at her head. His goal is to end this as efficiently as possible — but if he has to, he'll start aiming for other body parts first instead.]
[the fact doesn't drop, or even really seem to feel the wound, sends shivers down Bo's spine. She's dealt with some cold dicks before, but nothing like this.
She swerves to dodge the next swipe, pivoting and gasping]
Hey, when I say I'm good at giving head, I didn't mean it literally.
[she's a succubus, okay, she can't help making bad sex jokes even when fighting for her life.
She wants to reason with Dean, because she thinks he's kind of in her corner--he seemed to hope she could keep it together, wasn't out actively hunting her even when she'd given him reason.
But she's also pretty sure he's just about as whacked as she was last month, which means there's a good chance he's not even human. So, with a deep breath, she turns back, sword aimed for his gut. He'll be glad later, she tells herself, if she takes him out when he's this fucked]
[The comment is amusing in a distant kind of way, but Dean is too focused on succeeding to even spare more than a thought toward it. He misses his mark again, which might be frustrating if he could feel frustration at all. He can't, however, and so he remains as focused and unemotional as the first time he took a swing at her.
She goes after him and gets pretty close to hitting her mark, but Dean ends up parrying her move with his machete before it's too late. He uses it to shove back at her, hoping to either knock her weapon out of her hand or at least push her back a couple of feet so he has room to work up a good swing again.]
[Bo might be fast and strong, but she's far from invincible, especially here. Dean's parry knocks her off balance, making her stumble back a little bit and she can feel her ankle twist as she tries to keep from falling to her knees. She grimaces, but keeps a tight hold on her weapon]
What, and you'll be merciful and just knock me out before you decapitate me? [she snarls between set teeth] No dice, buddy.
[pushing herself forward with her good food, she tries to go for his neck. But even if she's using the sword, she's not intending to cut. She's hoping that he's strong enough that one little sip of chi will just knock the wind out of his sails, and she can leave him to sleep off the crazy]
[This is working out better than when Bo went crazy on the city, making Dean even more confident that he'll win this. He didn't get to do much damage with that attempt, but thinks he can get a hit in — and that it can be fatal.]
Your choice.
[Still spoken evenly. Dean can tell that her ankle is bothering her, even as she moves, so he plans on using that, moving as she comes after his neck off on that side, hoping that if nothing else, he can get her to accidentally put pressure on that foot as he tries for a gut shot.]
[His even tone makes a shiver run down Bo's spine, and she's decided that if she gets out of this, she is really making the Animus pay. Because she can tell something important's been taken out of Dean, and even if he's being a royal ass right now, he's still human and she's made herself their self appointed advocate back home, and she's sticking to it.
But right now, she really wants to keep her head.
She grimaces when Dean moves on the side of her ankle. She could lunge and take a drink, heal it quick, then...
What, continue kicking his ass? Kill him? Make him another grinning corpse on her too-long list?
She takes a faltering step back]
Okay. Fine. If it'll make you feel better, take what you need. [she narrows her eyes] Just hope you remember who the real bad guy is when this is over.
[Dean adopts another defensive stance, expecting Bo to lunge for him again. When she doesn't, he's reluctant to relax. It's what he asked her to do, but she could be trying to fake him out.]
It ain't about being a bad guy.
[He takes a few steps toward her, getting closer, blade out.]
It's about the game.
[He stops when he's close enough to strike.]
I'll make it quick and easy as long as you don't try and pull one over on me. If you do, you'll suffer.
[Bo shakes her head] I'm not gonna let them make me a monster again. And that's what I'd be if I kept fighting you.
[she sucks in a breath, lifting her chin] But I want one promise: you take what you need from me? You leave Kenzi, Gold, and his girl alone. If the assholes upstairs let me come back, and I find out you hurt any of them? [she smirks] You'll wish I'd sucked you dry.
[Dean says it easily and instantly. It isn't exactly true — he might target them, if he needed to or they were easy. But it's an effort versus results situation. If Bo is going to make it difficult, there are other people who are easier to get to that he can use. If one of them had something off the list that he needed and couldn't find elsewhere, then he'd target them, regardless of what Bo has to say on the matter.
[yeah, okay, she's not buying it. But fighting him won't change that part. She tells herself that Kenzi is strong, that Gold's got magic. Even if she doesn't come back, they can protect themselves.
They'd better. She huffs, closing her eyes]
Only 'cause when it's over, I'm not gonna be the one who's sorry this time. [she won't blame Dean, she tells herself; she'll just call truce to gang up on the Animus instead]
[She's right, of course, and even Dean knows that, from an objective standpoint. If he gets his soul back, he'll be wrecked emotionally over what he has done. Which is, in part, the reason that he doesn't want it back. Like this, he's free and his head is so much clearer. No guilt, no pain, just existence.
This is the way it should be.]
Too bad they're never giving it back.
[He figures the Animus will keep it forever. Hell, he wants them to.
He doesn't, however, specify what 'it' is, and instead, pulls back the blade, and in one smooth, obviously practiced motion, cuts off Bo's head.]
